Recipe ! The traditional Pecan Pie

Recipe - the traditional and easy Pecan Pie to do with kids for Thanksgiving

Pecan Pie is the classic dessert without which no Thanksgiving is complete. It’s so easy to make that the kids can help with every step of this recipe. 

Give it a try and you’ll see why it’s one of our favourite dessert!  


 Ingredients for 10 people:
• 1 ¾ cups white sugar
• ¼ cup dark corn syrup
• ¼ cup butter
• 1 tablespoon cold water
• 2 teaspoons cornstarch
• 3 eggs
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 ¼ cups chopped pecans
• 1 unbaked pie shell


1 - Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius
2 - In a saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, butter, water, and cornstarch. Bring to a full boil, and remove from heat.
3 - In a large bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Gradually beat in cooked syrup mixture. Stir in salt, vanilla, and pecans. Pour into pie shell.
4 - Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes
